Estimate your Google AdSense earnings
Google AdSense is the self-serve ad network most websites start with. There is no minimum traffic: any site with original content that follows Google's publisher policies can apply. Ads are filled from Google's own advertisers, and you control placement through Auto ads or manual ad units.
Requirements
- Original, useful content and a site you own
- Compliance with the AdSense Program Policies and Google Publisher Policies
- Being at least 18 years old (or using a parent's account)
Revenue share and payments
Since 2024, AdSense for content pays publishers 80% of revenue after the advertiser platform takes its fee. This replaced the old flat 68% share, and Google said it did not expect most publishers' earnings to change. Earnings are finalised at the start of each month and paid between the 21st and 26th once your balance reaches the payment threshold ($100 for US-dollar accounts).
Who it is for
AdSense is the right first step for new and small sites. As soon as you meet the requirements of a managed network such as Journey by Mediavine, Raptive or Monumetric, compare the numbers: managed networks commonly pay noticeably higher RPMs for the same traffic.
Pros
- No minimum traffic
- Fast, self-serve setup
- Pays reliably every month
Cons
- Lowest RPMs of the networks listed here
- Limited control and no account manager
- Policy violations can close the account
